About the Client (Based in Seattle, USA):
A GPS enabled app that allows you to share your real time location with any of your family, friends or co-workers for a pre-set period of time. The application has both an android and iOS version.
Challenge:
Bugs !! The client was facing ripple effects and losses due to this issue and it was delaying the release of the App. Common problems associated with it were crashing of the program, non performance and possible damage to the hardware.
What We Did:
We started out with a test strategy to perform different kinds of testing in order to find the number of bug issues.
Step 1: Functional Testing which involved getting down to the nitty gritties validating and invalidating smallest of units as per requirements.
Step 2: Performance testing which was essential for Devops and continuous integration workflows.
Step 3: Compatibility testing across various computing environments.
Step 4: Behaviour testing in addition to functional testing to verify and find loopholes in the external behaviour of the app.
We found and reported 38 issues major in Android (24) and iOS (14) from the production build.
